Dhaka, Ramadan 6, 1434, Jul 15, 2013, SPA - A former leader of Bangladesh's largest Islamist opposition party was sentenced to 90 years in jail Monday for war crimes during the country's 1971 war of independence, court officials said. Ghulam Azam, former chief of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami party, was sentenced by a special war crimes tribunal for involvement in genocide and other crimes against humanity during the nine-month war, according to a report of DPA.
