Yangon, Muharram 5, 1434, Nov 19, 2012, SPA - US President Barack Obama used his first visit to Myanmar Monday to back the country's reforms while encouraging a deepening of the process. "This nation, that has been so isolated, can show the world the power of a new beginning," Obama said in a speech delivered to a packed auditorium at Yangon University, including democracy champion Aung San Suu Kyi. After the speech, Obama departed for Cambodia where he will attend the East Asia Summit on Tuesday, the last leg of his South-East Asia tour that has come to symbolize his administration's "pivot to Asia," and away from Europe and the Middle East. --SPA 15:12 LOCAL TIME 12:12 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/1050316
