Islamabad, Jumada II 16, 1433, May 7, 2012, SPA - At least nine Pakistani soldiers were killed and more than 10 injured in a clash with militants in the north-western tribal region along the Afghan border, a security official said on Monday. The fighting occurred on Sunday at Amin security post in the suburbs of Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan, according to a report of DPA. A security official said the fighting started when the troops were demolishing the wall of an orchard from where the rebels had fired at soldiers in recent weeks. "The militants initiated the fight, which soon turned into an intense battle, killing nine soldiers and injuring another 10," he said. --SPA 11:49 LOCAL TIME 08:49 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/995724
