CHICAGO, Jumada II 30, 1433, May 21, 2012, SPA - Pakistan and Afghanistan on Sunday agreed in principle to extend the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement beyond Afghanistan to the countries in Central Asia. It was decided during a meeting of President Asif Ali Zardari with Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai who met here on the sidelines of the 25th NATO summit, now in progress in Chicago, to discuss the peace and security situation and future development in Afghanistan. Presidential Spokesman Senator Farhatullah Babar while giving details of the meeting with lasted for 45 minutes said that both the countries agreed that the modalities of extension of Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement to Central Asian states will be worked out later. President Karzai welcomed proposal of President Asif Ali Zardari to this effect, said Spokesperson Farhatullah Babar.
