London, Muharram 5, 1433, Nov 30, 2011, SPA - Britain has begun to withdraw some members of staff from its embassy in Tehran following an attack on the mission by Iranian protestors, the Foreign Office in London said Wednesday. A British Foreign Office spokesman would not confirm how many people were involved in the staff withdrawal, or whether the embassy would remain open. "In light of yesterday's events and to ensure the ongoing safety, some staff are leaving Tehran," a British Foreign Office spokesman said. Foreign Secretary William Hague was expected to make a statement in parliament on the issue later Wednesday, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA". He has deplored the Iranian government's "failure" to protect diplomatic staff in accordance with international law. --SPA 13:10 LOCAL TIME 10:10 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/948144
