MOGADISHU, Muharram 14, 1433, Dec 9, 2011, SPA -- U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says that the U.N. will move its Somalia office to Mogadishu in January, a relocation from neighboring Kenya that signals a promising step forward for the war-torn Horn of Africa nation, AP reported. Ban described his unannounced trip to Somalia on Friday as historical. Ban said Somalia is at a critical juncture and at a moment of fresh opportunity. Ban's arrival in the war-damaged capital was made possible because of military gains that African Union peacekeeping forces have made this year against al-Shabab militants, who a year ago controlled most of Mogadishu. -- SPA 14:05 LOCAL TIME 11:05 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/950763
