A team has successfully managed to return a hawksbill turtle, from an endangered species, to its natural habitat in the Red Sea after its recovery. The team who succeeded in returning the turtle is composed of a team from the Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC), and from the National Center for Wildlife Development, in addition to Fakih Aquarium. The environmental sustainability team found the turtle a month ago, and found that it was unable to dive normally near the island of "Aeqat Rizk", then after its recovery, they returned the turtle to its original home near the island near which it was found. The team also installed a tracking device on the turtle, which they took from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), as it will help them monitor the migration patterns of the turtle, in addition to collecting information in scientific ways. It is worth mentioning that TRSDC, in cooperation with its partners, has contributed to saving many turtles threatened with extinction, and during 2021 they saved 5 turtles.
