ABHA: King Khalid University, and in partnership with the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, organized recently a ceremony to celebrate World Arabic Language Day, which falls on Dec. 18 of this year, under the theme “The Contribution of the Arabic Language to Human Civilization and Culture” at Al-Faraa University City. In a speech delivered during the celebration, Faleh bin Rajallah Al-Sulami, president of King Khalid University, praised the efforts of the Kingdom to serve the Arabic language owing to its importance, which made it one of the cornerstones of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. He also praised the role and significant efforts of the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, affirming that King Khalid University is part of the national system that cares for and places its focus on the Arabic language, and works hard to serve it, develop it, facilitate its learning and consolidate its values. Al-Sulami clarified that the university has many Arabic language departments respected in the Arab world and globally. He said the university includes an Arabic language teaching unit for non-Arabic speakers, in which over 400 students from 75 countries are enrolled, in addition to online Arabic language learning platforms, and a translation unit that also serves the Arabic language.
