A total of 86 car accidents occurred due to rain in the Taif governorate, which has witnessed heavy rains recently, Okaz/Saudi Gazette have learned. The heavy rains in the region during the past two days led to the closure of several traffic lights on Shehar Road, which caused huge traffic jams, and traffic accidents. The traffic lights that also closed were at the intersection of 60 with Taif-Al-Sail Road and, while pressure of freeing traffic moved to the roundabouts on some of the signals that follow them, which put pressure on traffic movement. The spokesperson for the Red Crescent in Taif, Shadi Al-Thubaiti said the Red Crescent team in the governorate, has dealt within the 24 hours since the start of the warnings issued by the National Center of Meteorology, 260 emergency calls. He also noted that the traffic accidents, which are considered emergency accidents, amounted to 86 emergency calls. He also indicated that they had received a large number of illness reports, amounting to 174, which varied between diabetes, seasonal colds, and other medical conditions, stressing that the necessary emergency service was provided to the patients.
