A total of 280 loaned artifacts from local and international institutions and works of 40 artists have captivated visitors to the Islamic Arts Biennale in Jeddah, held at the Pilgrims Lounge at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, which will continue until April 23. As an interactive platform, the biennale reflects the experience of pilgrims from around the world by reflecting on the diversity of the Islamic experience, urging them to conjure the history, culture and heritage of the place on a journey between the past, the present and the future. The biennale, held on an area of over 118,000 square meters, provides unique opportunities for learning, research and contemplation on this type of art, as well as the art dialogues it hosts on a journey that regenerates feelings and memories across the four galleries, orbit gallery and two pavilions. The biennale enjoys a special importance for its being the starting point of the life journey for millions of Muslims from all over the world. The 2023 Islamic Arts Biennale houses two main areas for displaying artworks and antiques. The first area consists of continuous exhibitions on one line, while the second consists of two pavilions dedicated to Makkah and Madinah and an outdoor area under the umbrellas of the Pilgrims’ Lounge for displaying paintings and synthetic artworks. — SPA
