Cairo, January 05, 2023, SPA -- Ministry of Communications and Information Technology won today the Arab Government Excellence Award as the best Arab ministry, after fulfilling the award's four criteria represented in realizing the vision, main tasks, and innovation, in addition to the integrated enablers, and the effective performance in all criteria. Moreover, Chairperson of the Council for the Empowerment of Women in the Communications and Information Technology Sector and Senior Consultant Noura Abdullah Al-Zaid won the award for Best Arab Government Employee. The award ceremony honoring the winners was held today in Cairo at the Arab League headquarters, in the presence of the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha. The Ministry’s award was received by the Vice Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Haytham Al-Ohali This award is attributed to the Ministry’s distinction and success in building solid digital foundations to build a coherent present and an innovative future, and its steps and procedures that started with establishing concepts of institutional excellence in a work system that adopts the concepts of leadership and innovation, which contributed to making qualitative leaps in the communications and information technology sector, thus strengthening the Kingdom progress in international indicators, given that the Kingdom ranks 3rd globally in the maturity of digital government, per the World Bank, and ranks 2nd in digital competitiveness among the G20 countries. --SPA 21:14 LOCAL TIME 18:14 GMT 0018 www.spa.gov.sa/w1836374
