Jeddah, December 18, 2022, SPA -- The 20th session of the Permanent Independent Human Rights Commission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) kicked off today in Jeddah with the participation of member states and observer states. The session started with signing a memorandum of understanding between the commission and the National Council for Human Rights of Malaysia, in addition to delivering presentations of main speakers on “The right to family life… Islamic perspective and human rights perspective to combat challenges facing marriage.” The agenda of the session also included several sessions. Later on, open discussions started between members of the commission, member states and observer states and their national human rights institutions.
