Riyadh, December 01, 2022, SPA -- Under patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and on his behalf, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh Region, is scheduled to inaugurate the Sixth International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation to be held between December 4 and 6 at Al-Faisal University, in Riyadh, with the participation of 27 countries. The conference will see a number of initiatives and cooperation agreements between the King Salman Center for Disability Research and other competent and interested authorities, which will be announced during the conference and has so far totaled 19 initiatives to be announced on the platform of initiatives and through four cooperation agreements, including a series of initiatives with the Authority for the Care of People with Disabilities, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, including the launch of a global disability research accelerator and an agreement with Tatweer Company for teaching technologies to develop means and fields of research, studies and technical projects related to disability, and an agreement with Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University to develop the quality of scientific research. Regarding turnout to participate in the conference, a total of 2,015 people from inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and 560 people from outside Saudi Arabia have registered so far, including doctors, specialists and researchers in disability issues, in addition to other interested people. The figures announced by the center indicated that there was momentum in the conference's sponsorship and volunteers, with the number of conference sponsors reached 18 ministries, health and education institutions, banks and various companies, and the number of volunteers from individuals during the conference reached 146 volunteers so far, and this number is expected to see a rise in the coming days, demonstrating a higher awareness of the importance of the issue of disability and the events it serves. -- SPA 21:12 LOCAL TIME 18:12 GMT 0033 www.spa.gov.sa/w1820983
