Cairo, July 07, 2022, SPA -- The Arab Parliament welcomed the agreement of the armistice in Yemen on the occasion of blessed Eid Al-Adha, expressing its hope that the success of the humanitarian truce would contribute to ending the war and supporting efforts to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to the Yemeni crisis, in accordance with the GCC Initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive National Dialogue Conference and Security Council Resolution No. 2216, in order to meet the aspirations of the Yemeni people to achieve security, peace and stability. In a statement issued yesterday, the parliament called on all Yemeni parties to adhere to the cessation of all military operations, as well as the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, announced in March 2021, to end the crisis in Yemen through a comprehensive peace settlement. The Arab Parliament reiterated its solidarity and full support for the people and legitimacy in Yemen, the unity, independence and territorial integrity of the state, as well as its support for all efforts aimed at achieving peace in Yemen, in accordance with the references of the Yemeni National Dialogue, the GCC Initiative and its executive mechanisms and the results of the recent Yemeni consultations in Riyadh under the auspices of the GCC, and the Security Council resolutions. -- SPA 01:20 LOCAL TIME 22:20 GMT 0002 www.spa.gov.sa/w1757741
