Aden, Aug 3, 2022, SPA -- The Yemeni government welcomed the announcement by the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg to extend the truce for two additional months, according to the previous clauses, until October 02, 2022, which came after consultation with and approval of the government. The official Yemeni News Agency (Saba) said that the Yemeni government reiterates that the main goal of the truce is to stop the bleeding of Yemeni blood due to the war ignited by the terrorist Houthi militia, and to facilitate the free movement of civilians and goods, humanitarian and commercial services throughout Yemen, which was achieved by facilitating traveling through Sanaa airport and entering oil derivatives through the ports of Hodeida, citing that the siege is still imposed on the city of Taiz. The Yemeni government also stressed the need to fully implement the terms of the truce, stop all Houthi violations, accomplish what has not been accomplished during the past period, begin immediately to lift the barbaric siege on the city of Taiz, and ensure that the revenues of Hodeida ports are used to pay the salaries of civil servants and retirees in the areas that are still under the control of Houthi militia. In this regard, the Yemeni government affirmed its full support for the efforts of the United Nations and its Special Envoy on the path to achieving a comprehensive and just peace in accordance in terms of the three agreed references, foremost among which is International Resolution 2216. --SPA 01:46 LOCAL TIME 22:46 GMT 0003 www.spa.gov.sa/w1769208
