Jeddah, June 19, 2022, SPA -- The first batch of pilgrims benefiting from the Makkah Route Initiative from Indonesia today arrived at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah through the initiative terminal at Jakarta International Airport, where they were received by representatives of institutions implementing the initiative. Launching the Makkah Route Initiative in Indonesia – in addition to Malaysia, Pakistan, Morocco and Bangladesh – for the 1443 Hijri year is part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's continuous efforts to facilitate procedures for pilgrims and the wise leadership's keenness to care for pilgrims and their affairs. Makkah Route Initiative is one of the programs of the Kingdom Vision 2030 and aims to complete the procedures for the pilgrims from their countries, starting with issuing the visa electronically and taking the fingerprint, and the completion of passport procedures at the airport of the country of departure after verifying the availability of health requirements, in addition to the luggage coding and sorting according to transportation and housing arrangements in the Kingdom. Upon their arrival, they move directly to buses to take them to their places of residence in Makkah and Madinah, with designated paths, while the service agencies deliver their luggage to their place of residence. --SPA 20:46 LOCAL TIME 17:46 GMT 0026 www.spa.gov.sa/w1748376
