OIC Secretary General Visits Cameroon

Jeddah, Mar. 06, 2022, SPA -- The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hussein Ibrahim Taha met, during his visit to the Republic of Cameroon, with Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Ngot, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Legon Mbela Mbela, it was reported here today. During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues of common interest. For his part, Taha thanked Cameroon for its active participation and constant support for the activities of OIC. He called on the member states to show more solidarity against the challenges facing the countries of the Sahel and the Lake Chad Basin in support of the economic development of the two regions. For their part, the Cameroonian leaders congratulated the Secretary-General on assuming the leadership of OIC and called on the organization to enhance giving priority to cooperation among member states in the areas of the road infrastructure network and electrical network interconnection. Other areas of cooperation that were highlighted included the production of medicines and vaccines and the promotion of science and technology.
