Riyadh Governor Honors King Faisal International Prize Winners for 2022

Riyadh, Mar 30, 2022, SPA -- Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh region honored here Tuesday evening the winners of King Faisal International Prize for 2022. On the occasion, a speech ceremony was held on this occasion, where the Royal Anthem was played. Then, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah region and Chairman of the Prize Authority delivered a speech in which he said: "It is King Faisal Prize, his name is Faisal, and Al-Faisal distinguishes truth from falsehood, beauty is from savagery and the good from the bad, this is how he lived and thus he passed away not like anyone." Then, the Secretary General of King Faisal Prize Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sabeel, announced the names of the winners, who are seven personalities and scientists and scholars who contributed to enriching humanity with their important achievements and discoveries, in addition to their excellence in the fields of serving Islam, Arabic language, literature, medicine and science. The Service to Islam Prize was awarded to the former President of the United Republic of Tanzania Ali Hassan Mwinyi and Professor Hassan Mahmoud Al-Shafei, while the Arabic Language and Literature Prize was awarded to Professor Suzanne Stetkevych and Professor Mohsen Al-Moussawi. Medicine Prize was awarded to Professor David Liu, and Science Prize for Professor Martin Hairer and Professor Nader Masmoudi. The ceremony was attended by Prince Turki Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz; Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Faisal; Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; Prince Bandar bin Saud bin Khalid, Secretary-General of King Faisal Charitable Foundation; a number of princes, eminences, ministers and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom. --SPA 01:03 LOCAL TIME 22:03 GMT 0001 www.spa.gov.sa/w1714347
