Heritage Commission Signs MoU with KARRDA for Enhancing Joint Cooperation

Riyadh, Jan 20, 2022, SPA -- The Heritage Commission signed a memorandum of understanding with King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority (KARRDA) to enhance cooperation in the field of preserving and developing the national heritage. The signing ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Heritage Commission, represented by its CEO, Dr. Jasser bin Suleiman Al-Harbash, while the KARRDA was represented by its CEO, Engineer Maher bin Abdullah Al-Qathmi. The memorandum included multiple items including cooperation in preparing comprehensive strategic heritage plans and studies, protecting archaeological and heritage sites within KARRDA, preserving them and registering them in the cultural heritage records, in addition to cooperation in research, survey and archaeological excavations within KARRDA. The memorandum also covers urban heritage through the cooperation of the two parties in preserving, restoring, rehabilitating and operating cultural heritage sites within KARRDA, in addition to launching initiatives and projects that serve craftsmen and contribute to the development of crafts and handicrafts, as well as inventorying the intangible cultural heritage of the local community located near protected, and activate their role in participating in events and events.
