Saudi Press: Saudi women play an active role in development process

Riyadh, Nov. 24, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that the Saudi citizen represents the most important pillar in the development progress in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In this prosperous era, Saudi women have also enjoyed unprecedented gains through important initiatives and legislative reforms that supported and empowered them to play their roles in the development process, the paper said. Within the same context, the Conference of Women Empowerment and their Developmental Role in the Reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was inaugurated in Riyadh on Tuesday. The conference is held to highlight the legislative reforms during the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and their role in empowering women and achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. It also aims to introduce governmental projects and initiatives launched to support the empowerment of Saudi women in various fields. This is in addition to reviewing the Saudi women’s successes and gains in the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the paper added. In light of the government's efforts to empower them, Saudi women's participation in the Shura Council increased, chairing some of its committees, assuming a number of leading positions, in addition to representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in diplomatic posts, the paper further added. Saudi women continue to confirm their great national contributions in various fields.
