Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia is keen to support and advance the GCC march in all spheres

Riyadh, Dec. 15, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Yaum, Al-Riyadh and Al-Bilad newspapers reported in their editorials that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is always keen to support the the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for the Arab States' march in all spheres since the country's unification by its late founder, and until this prosperous era, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. The GCC Supreme Council's 42nd Session comes to reflect the deep-rooted and historical ties among the GCC states. This is in addition to strengthening the distinguished relations among the leaders of the countries and their brotherly peoples, the papers said. The summit seeks to develop strategic cooperation and enhance integration in various fields, in addition to unifying the vision towards the common challenges facing the region, in order to support its security and stability, the papers further said. The 42nd Gulf Summit coincides with the repercussions of COVID-19 pandemic, which is still affecting the economies of the whole world, thus the economic integration comes as a priority for this march based on many factors, including visions and national development plans in all the GCC countries, along with the great opportunities provided for the private sector to lead the GCC economy. The summit also comes where there is a need to enhance Gulf integration in many areas such as food and drug security as well as digital transformation.
