Riyadh, January 2, 2022, SPA -- King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) today signed an agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to provide shelter support for affected displaced families across Yemen. The agreement will benefit 104,406 individuals with a total value of USD 6 million. KSrelief Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmad bin Ali Al-Baiz and Advisor to UNHCR and Representative to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States Khalid Khalifah signed the agreement at the center's headquarters in Riyadh. Following the signing ceremony, Eng. Al-Baiz noted that this agreement is part of close cooperation relations between KSrelief and UNHCR and in response to the emergency status in Yemen, pointing out that the agreement stipulates providing 6,000 shelter housings and 14,000 shelter bags to help the displaced families affected by the humanitarian crisis and to improve their living conditions. He also said that targeted governorates are Hajjah, Al-Jouf, Al-Baida, Omran, Taiz, Al-Hudaydah, Sana'a, Abyan, Ibb, Dhamar, Aden, Lahaj, Capital Municipality, Al-Dali and Sa'dah. For his part, Khalifah praised the role of KSrelief in the humanitarian field, expressing his gratitude for KSrelief's support to UNHCR's efforts, saying: "We are proud in our partnership with KSrelief and we highly appreciate its continuous support and important contribution to support the needy displaced people in Yemen," adding that this contribution will support UNHCR's efforts in responding to shelter needs of the underprivileged families and help them enjoy decent lives.
