Riyadh, December 7, 2021, SPA -- Speaker of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh at his office in the Shura Council’s headquarters in Riyadh today received Head of the US Mission to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Martina Strong and other officials in the US Embassy. At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al Al-Sheikh welcomed Strong and stressed the deep-rooted strategic and historical ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the USA in various fields. For her part, Strong expressed her happiness for visiting the Shura Council and meeting the Speaker and other officials, referring to her pride in the level of relations between the two countries. The head of the US mission also had a firsthand look at the role of the Shura Council in the legislative system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and work mechanisms, in addition to its efforts at the level of parliamentary diplomacy in all regional and international events and through its membership in regional and international unions. Talks during the meeting also reviewed several issues of mutual interest between the two friendly countries in all fields, mainly at the parliamentary level, and discussed aspects of further enhancing cooperation and communication between the Shura Council and US Congress.
