Riyadh, January 24, 2022, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has assumed the presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States (GCC) Commercial Arbitration Center after the announcement was made during the virtual meeting of the board of directors of the center that was held in December, 2021. Moving the presidency to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s representative at the center Advisor Fahad bin Ali Al-Amri was made according to GCC meetings procedures, where the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia received the presidency after Bahrain according to followed procedures. The meeting of the board of directors was held in December under the chairmanship of Chairman and Bahrain Representative Sami Mohammed Sharif Zainal, Al-Amri, UAE representative Mohammed Helal Al-Muhairi, Kuwait representative Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Ansari, Qatar representative Shaikh Dr. Thani Bin Ali Al Thani, Oman representative Ali Salim Hamed Al-Kasbi, and GCC Commercial Arbitration Center Secretary General Tareq Yousef Al-Shumaimry. The secretary general noted that Al-Amri is considered among the top law people in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and he occupied a leading post at the Federation of Saudi Chambers as an assistant secretary general for the legal affairs at the federation, in addition to being a deputy chairman of the permanent committee for Saudi arbitration centers and a former deputy chairman of disciplinary committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and participated in studying several projects on economic systems.
