Riyadh, October 27, 2021, SPA -- The plenary of "Redesigning Tourism" within the Fifth Future Investment Initiatives (FII5) highlighted the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the travel and tourism sectors as well as the important measures taken by the world's leaders to deal with the crisis, stressing that much remains to be done in order to enable societies, companies and destinations that depend on tourism and travel to fully recover from the implications of the pandemic. During the session, Princess Haifa bint Mohammed bin Saud, Assistant Minister of Tourism for Executive and Strategic Affairs and Member of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Development Fund, affirmed that the COVID-19 pandemic affects harshly the tourism sector, adding that the statistics show that 62 million jobs were lost during the pandemic.
