Riyadh, May 27, 2021, SPA -- Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority has managed to foil two attempts to smuggle over 1.6 kg of cocaine at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. The seized cocaine was hidden in the intestines of a man and a woman who arrived at the airport. The authority pointed out that during the inspection process on passengers of one of the flights coming to the Kingdom, the inspector suspected one of the female passengers. After taking the suspected passenger for an X-ray scan, 60 capsules of cocaine weighing 683.5 grams were found inside her intestine. The authority added that it had foiled a similar attempt in which a male passenger was involved who hid 80 capsules of cocaine weighing 918.5 grams inside his intestines. The authority pointed out that the attempts to smuggle drugs hidden inside intestines are among the most prominent methods used by smugglers to try to bring in drugs such as heroin and cocaine. However, the authority is making all efforts to thwart such efforts for the security and protection of society. --SPA 02:33 LOCAL TIME 23:33 GMT 0002 www.spa.gov.sa/w1562872
