KSrelief Inaugurates Project to Support Nutrition for Children, Pregnant Women, Nursing Mothers in Yemen

Aden, July 07, 2021, SPA -- King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), inaugurated yesterday, in Aden, a project to support the nutrition of children under the age of five years old, pregnant women and nursing mothers in the governorates of Aden, Lahij, Taizz, Al-Hudaydah, Hadramout, Hajjah and Marib, with the aim of providing services of therapeutic feeding, safe healthcare and counseling for those diagnosed with moderate acute malnutrition and severe acute malnutrition, which benefited 431,179 individuals. The project includes rehabilitating and furnishing 49 nutritional outpatient clinics and six nutritional treatment centers, offering financial support and incentives for health workers and enhancing their vocational capabilities, in addition to opening makeshift facilities to treat malnutrition in areas that lack health facilities, where they will be operated and equipped with dietary supplements, basic medicines, hygiene tools and all other necessary supplies. Yemen’s Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Qasim Mohammed Buhaibeh commended the big role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting and helping the Yemeni people through KSrelief that greatly contributed to the recovery of the health conditions in Yemen, noting that the project will contribute to the stability of the nutritional situation in Yemeni governorates, covering needs, bridging gaps towards supporting the treatment of malnutrition cases in some governorates. --SPA 18:48 LOCAL TIME 15:48 GMT 0028 www.spa.gov.sa/w1582218
