Geneva, Sep. 24, 2021, SPA -- The United Nations called on donors to fund the humanitarian response in Sudan, as more than 300,000 people were affected by heavy rains and floods in 14 Sudanese states. The Spokesperson for United Nations humanitarian office (UNOCHA) in Geneva Jens Laerke warned of the lack of supplies for relief organizations and the depletion of aid stocks, noting that the lack of funding means depriving 330,000 people of support and emergency aid and a quarter of a million of medical services. The floods destroyed 15,000 houses, and damaged more than 45,000 ones as well agricultural crops, he added. --SPA 15:13 LOCAL TIME 12:13 GMT 0012 www.spa.gov.sa/w1625046
