Jordanian FM summons Israeli charge d'affaires in Amman to protest against Israel's violations at Al-Aqsa mosque

Aman, May 10, 2021, SPA -- Jordan has summoned the Israeli charge d'affaires in Amman to reiterate the Jordanian government's protest against and denunciation of the Israel's continuing violations at Al-Aqsa mosque, citing the recent attacks on the campus of the mosque and worshippers, particularly at Alsheikh Jarrah neighborhood in the occupied city of Eastern Al-Quds. Following the meeting, Ambassador Yousef Albatayna told reporters that he conveyed to the Israeli envoy that Jordan considers the recent Israeli practices in Al-Aqsa mosque a violation of the international law as well as the historical and legal status quo, necessitating its immediate stoppage. Albatayna warned the Israeli representative of the grave repercussions of his country's continuing such violations, provocations and escalation, according to the state-run news agency.
