Moon sighting committee of the Supreme Court declares tomorrow, Tuesday, the first day of Ramadan, Royal Court reports

Riyadh, Apr. 12, 2021, SPA -- Based on an authenticated report of the Moon Sighting Committee of the Supreme Court, the Royal Court of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced that tomorrow, Tuesday, April 13, 2021 is the first day of the holy month of Ramadan. Following its session here this evening, the Moon Sighting Committee of the Supreme Court decided that today, Monday, the thirtieth of the month of Sha`ban, according to Umm al-Qura calendar, is the last day of Shaaban, the month preceding Ramadan, the fasting month for able Muslims. After having reviewed all reports submitted at its meeting, testifying that the moon of Ramadan was eye-seen at today's sunset, the committee has decided, in accordance with the authentic Hadith of Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) in this regard, that tomorrow, Tuesday 1/9/1442 H, according to Umm al-Qura calendar, corresponding to 13/4/2021, is the first day of the holy month of Ramadan for this year 1442 H. On the occasion, the Supreme Court congratulates the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, HRH the Crown Prince, all citizens and residents of the Kingdom, as well as all Muslims on this holy month, praying that God Almighty will help Muslims easily fast and worship, accept from them the righteous deeds, reconcile between them, His religion may prevail, and His word be exalted, and that He preserves this country, its security, stability and prosperity. -- SPA 21:30 LOCAL TIME 18:30 GMT 0039 www.spa.gov.sa/w1541796
