Riyadh, May 17, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper said in its editorial that the Palestinian cause is the central issue of the Arab and Islamic worlds, and since the establishment of the State of Israel until this day the efforts have not stopped at all levels to restore the stolen rights on the occupied land of Palestine. The paper pointed to the Arab Peace Initiative, launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at Beirut Summit in 2002 and adopted by the Arab countries, to conclude a peace agreement in the Middle East between Israel and the Palestinians aimed at establishing an internationally recognized Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, the return of refugees and the withdrawal from the occupied Golan Heights, in exchange for recognition and normalization of relations between Arab countries with Israel. Israel always obstructs any serious attempts to reach peace, the paper added. The paper concluded that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has supported everything that helps the Palestinian people and fulfills their hopes and aspirations to establish their state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with its capital Al-Quds, and considers Palestinian cause one of its main duties and a constant axis in its policies. Al-Yaum newspaper said in its editorial that the security spokesman of the Ministry of Interior confirmed that the passports had completed its preparations to receive travelers at all ports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, pointing out that the number of doses given from the Corona vaccine amounted to 11,527,100 as Health Ministry's spokesperson stated. The paper said that with the lifting of the suspension of travel for citizens, the community awareness comes to ensure passing of this delicate stage in peace. The paper referred to the size of the sacrifices made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the sake of human safety from the Corona pandemic and providing vaccination for all citizens and residents alike, free of charge. -- SPA 10:09 LOCAL TIME 07:09 GMT 0005 www.spa.gov.sa/w1558766
