Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia Exerts Great Efforts to Achieve Economic Integration for GCC

Riyadh, July 06, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Yaum Newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia exerts great efforts to achieve economic integration for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries through criteria that contribute to achieve convergence of economic performance as well as having the ability to address the challenges may lie ahead. These steps come within Saudi Arabia's strategies throughout history in order to maintain the stability of the region and achieve its development and prosperity, the paper said. The approval of national rules of origin issued a few days ago would contribute to develop the national economy and enhance the benefit of the government's purchasing power and direct it towards local products and services, which will open a wide field for the private sector to enhance and develop its local production capabilities, the paper added. The approval will also enhance the development of the local content with all its components in line with the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and It also contributes to stimulating the investment environment in Saudi Arabia by exploiting the opportunities available in it in various industries and support employment in this vital sector, the paper further added . Saudi Arabia seeks to achieve economic balance in GCC and preserve the identity, national gains and the economic balance in a way that guarantees the stability and prosperity of the region, the paper concluded. Al-Bilad Newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia always seeks to alleviate the suffering of peoples by providing them with humanitarian, development and charitable aid without exception, in addition to its keenness to achieve security, peaceful coexistence and prosperity throughout the world. In this regard, Saudi Arabia established King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) to provide the aid to the needy and afflicted people around the world, the paper said. United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has appreciated Saudi Arabia's contributions through KSrelief in providing the urgent food needs for the most vulnerable and needy people in Yemen, the paper added. This unremitting efforts affirmed Saudi Arabia keenness on supporting the Yemeni people so that their conditions not to aggravate into catastrophic levels due to the criminal acts being committed -Iran backed terrorist Houthi militia, the paper further added .
