Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia Exerts Great Efforts in Promoting Arab Culture

Riyadh, Dec. 23, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that it is widely known that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia exerts great efforts in promoting and disseminating Arab culture at all levels. Within the initiative of the "Year of Arabic Calligraphy" 2021 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arabic calligraphy has been inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the paper said. Such great progress has been made due to the symbolism, represented by the Arabic calligraphy, which is closely related to Arab identity and culture, its history and civilization spanning thousands of years, the paper further said. Since the launch of its vision 2030, Saudi Arabia has continuously worked to developing such cultural and identity aspects through launching many governmental agencies and institutions concerned with the cultural aspect, the knowledge and arts, the paper added. Saudi Arabia launched many festivals and pavilions to shed light on the visual arts such as painting, sculpture, wall arts, handicrafts, printing, photography and others, the paper further added.
