Riyadh, May 29, 2021, SPA -- The Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Yaum newspaper reported in editorial that the coalition forces to Restore legitimacy in Yemen have successfully intercepted and destroyed bomb-laden drones launched by the terrorist Houthi militia towards the southern region, Saudi Arabia. The coalition forces were able as usual to take all necessary operational measures to protect civilians and civilian objects from such ongoing hostile attempts, the paper said. In this regard, the Saudi Foreign Minster held telephone calls with a number of his counterparts in the world, as they discussed a number of issues of common interests, in addition to aspects of cooperation on regional and international challenges, the paper added. In coincidence with these discussions, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Muallami, chaired the 22nd meeting of the members of the Advisory Board of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Center, the paper further added. During the meeting, they discussed the negotiations for the seventh review of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Strategy, in addition to the achievements of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Center during the year 2020, the paper concluded. In another context, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported in its editorial that spreading of COVID-19 pandemic added more importance to electronic services in all fields, after economies around the world were closed to avoid more severe repercussions of the pandemic. The cybersecurity measures are extremely complex, but they have become necessary for any company that relies on electronic services to deliver its products, the paper added. These measures added financial burdens to the concerned institutions, which contributed to raising the level and value of the security services providers, further added.
