Riyadh, February 25, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that Riyadh Region is witnessing extensive development work, being led by Riyadh Municipality and aimed at improving the urban landscape of the capital city, improving project’s planning processes and following up on their implementation in accordance with advanced standards, repairing and upgrading roads and improving municipal services. As an example, Riyadh Municipality has started implementing the first phase of the initiative “Smart Entry Organizations on King Fahd Road”, using the automatic regulation technology. This initiative comes as a part of the municipality’s efforts to shift towards a smart city, in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, the newspaper added. These initiatives and efforts contribute to improving the urban landscape of the capital, making use of advanced technologies and accelerating access to the implementation of the concept of the smart city, in line with the Riyadh Strategy that was announced by HRH the Crown Prince and aims to make Riyadh among the top 10 economic cities in the world by 2030. Al-Bilad newspaper said in its editorial that the human rights reforms adopted by the wise leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over the past few years have presented the most prominent initiatives of Vision 2030, which are based on the basis of human rights and activating everything that would preserve and protect those rights. The newspaper added that Saudi Arabia has witnessed 90 major human rights reforms over the past few years, and women’s rights constitute the largest share of these reforms. Women had their rights and they were partners with men in development. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has recognized human rights from its true religion, Islam, and from the serious desire of its wise leadership to uphold the values of justice and rights in all times, the newspaper concluded. In another context, Okaz newspaper reported in its editorial that Iran keeps practicing its malicious behavior in its struggle with international and regional powers regarding its nuclear program. The latest example of Iranian behavior is the two contradictory positions announced by Tehran regarding the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspections. The return to Iranian nuclear program deal now should depend on important new conditions, the main of which is that any new negotiations shall include the Iranian missile program and the destabilization policy that Tehran is pursuing in the region and the world, the newspaper said. There will be no successful and sustainable deal if the Gulf Cooperation Council is not an integral part of any possible negotiations, the paper added. --SPA 09:55 LOCAL TIME 06:55 GMT 0008 www.spa.gov.sa/w1510958
