Riyadh, June 12, 2021, SPA -- Dr. Saleh bin Hamad Al-Tuwaijri, Secretary General of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization (ARCO), has commended the outcomes of the Islamic Conference on the Declaration of Peace in Afghanistan, which was hosted by the Muslim World League (MWL) under the auspices of Saudi Arabia. In a statement, Al-Tuwaijri expressed appreciation for the Saudi leading role in bringing an end to infighting in Afghanistan and for the MWL's efforts for organizing the conference and bringing together all Afghani warring parties to negotiations in the Holy City of Makkah. The ARCO Secretary General also thanked Afghanistan's warring factions for attending the conference and joining in efforts seeking an end to unrest in the Islamic country, expressing gratitude for the Islamic scholars' contributions to pushing the Afghan reconciliation process forward.
