Riyadh, March 17, 2021, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper said in its editorial that the Ministry of Health announced the expansion of the vaccination campaign against the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and launched more vaccination centers in all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to reach everyone. Moreover, the centers are witnessing a great turnout from the members of the community to get inoculated amid regulatory and precautionary measures to maintain their health and safety. The ministry also said that more than two million COVID-19 vaccine doses had been administered since the launch of the campaign. The competent authorities’ keenness to vaccinate the largest proportion of the population comes within the framework of preserving the health of people and resuming all activities in a way that does not affect individuals and establishments. The Ministry of Health previously stated that it aims to vaccinate 80% of the population by Eid Al-Fitr, the newspaper further said. Protecting the society from the COVID-19 repercussions is a great responsibility, and everyone must cooperate until we come through the pandemic, the newspaper concluded. In another context, Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the Iranian behavior, which seeks to destabilize the security and stability of the region, by supporting, arming and recruiting terrorist militias, has become an imminent threat to the region and to the global economy. The newspaper pointed to United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths concern over the major escalation of missile and drone attacks carried out by the Houthi militias on Saudi Arabia and the continued Houthi attacks on the Yemeni city of Marib. The Arab, Islamic and international condemnations of the continuation of cowardly acts committed by the Houthi militia, come as other evidence of the seriousness of the Iran-backed Houthi militia attacks and threats. These aforementioned data affirm that the only way to deter these threats is through addressing their source and saving humanity from their effects on the international economy, security and global peace and stability, the newspaper concluded. --SPA 10:48 LOCAL TIME 07:48 GMT 0008 www.spa.gov.sa/w1526078
