Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia's Health Ministry Announces New COVID-19 Vaccine Trials to Be Conducted

Riyadh, August 10, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues, at local, regional, and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper said in its editorial that that Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has affirmed its standing by the Lebanese people and provide basic aid to them to alleviate their suffering in this exceptional circumstances. The paper indicated that tragedy situation in Lebanon with the horrific number of dead, missing, and injured victims of the catastrophic explosion requires global cooperation and a firm stance to conduct an impartial and transparent international investigation to uncover the causes of the explosion and those responsible for it. The paper concluded that Saudi Arabia has confirmed, at the donors conference yesterday, the right of the brotherly Lebanese people to live in their country in safety and respect. Al-Yaum newspaper said in its editorial that the Ministry of Health confirms the continuation of its experiments and research to develop an effective vaccine for COVID-19 disease. The paper pointed out that Health Ministry has announced that a clinical trial for a vaccine against the virus will be conducted in the Kingdom, within the framework of the cooperation agreement between Saudi Arabia and China.
