Amman, Feb 28, 2021, SPA -- Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the continuing violations on Al-Aqsa Mosque, the latest of which was the incursion of hundreds of extremists into the mosque's yards on Sunday. In a press statement, the Ministry's Media Spokesperson Dhaifallah Fayez, said the extremists' raids under the protection of the Israeli police are a "flagrant" violation of the existing legal and historic status, international law and the Israel's obligations, the occupying power in occupied East Al-Quds, in accordance with the international law. Stressing that Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its entire area of 144 dunums, is a pure place of worship for Muslims, he said the Jordan-run Department of Waqf Al-Quds (endowments) and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs are the legal authority with exclusive jurisdiction to manage all Al-Haram's affairs and regulate entry to it. Fayez called on the Israeli authorities to stop the violations, respect the legal and historic status quo, and respect authority of the competent Al-Quds endowments administration, calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to mount pressure on Israel to stop the ongoing violations and provocations in Al-Haram site. --SPA 21:13 LOCAL TIME 18:13 GMT 0036 www.spa.gov.sa/w1512918
