Riyadh, Mar. 02, 2021, SPA -- The Shura Council strongly reiterated its rejection and disapproval of a report that the US Congress was recently provided with on the murder of Jamal Khashouggi, Saudi citizen, and the offensive consclusions and incorrect information contained, referring to the Kingdom's leadership, which would never be accepted, by any means whatsoever. This came in a statement at the outset of the 20th session of the 1st year of the 8th convocation that virtually took place today, under the chairmanship of the Shura Council Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh. Shura Council expressed, in a statement announced by its Secretary General Mohammed bin Dakhil Al-Mutairi, its utmost upset for the issuance of such unjustified reports that are not based on any facts or realities, rather they represent plain selectivity aiming at abusing and distortion and, more over, citing human rights cases to drag them out of their noble context. The Shura Council statement pointed that the Kingdom has timely denounced that horrendous crime, confirming that it has taken required procedures, in its regard. Shura Council emphasized that, as it condemns all forms of transgression on the rights of individuals as well as entities, it similarly decisively rejects any prejudice against the sovereignty of states and their rights or exploiting their issues and politically employing them, reasserting that relations among states shall be built on non-interference in the internal affairs of each other, and non-abuse of state's institutions or the intact of their procedures in a way that does not conform to the nature of these relations. The council stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, proceeds on the straight path based on the principles that preserve the value of the human being and his dignity, and exerting all efforts at all levels, regionally as well as internationally, to consolidate the concepts of justice, human rights, moderation and mediocrity, protects the humanity, combat extremism, hatred and terrorism and seeks to bring about stability and peace to the world. On the other hand, the statement hailed the just and independent judiciary the Kingdom entertains as well as regulations that respect the rights of human being and guarantee protecting him, supporting what the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued over the report that the US Congress was provided with, reiterating backing up all measures that the Kingdom may take of to maintain its rights and gains. The statement concluded that the Kingdom, under its wise leadership, will continue on the path of reform, progress and realization of its ambitious 2030 Vision, led by HRH Crown Prince to reach advanced ranks among the world nations and that the Shura will remain a backing up supporter of the anticipations of the leadership and the ambitions of its citizens. Then the council resumed discussing various issues on its agenda, submitted by its several committees, including endorsing memorandum of understanding with the Republic of Djibouti on steering the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Islamic Cultural Center, in Djibouti and approving a draft-agreement between the Government of the Kingdom and the International Fund for Agricultural Development on establishing an office for relations with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and another draft-agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Banks Union, on the on the headquarters of the regional office of the union. --SPA 21:12 LOCAL TIME 18:12 GMT 0035 www.spa.gov.sa/w1514119
