Riyadh, September 22, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper said in its editorial that the intransigence of Houthi militia in preventing the assessment, maintenance and emptying of the FSO Safer near of Bab al-Mandab represents a miserable aspect of the inhuman practices of these militias and those who support them. The newspaper added that Saudi Arabia has spared no effort in supporting the Yemeni people and alleviating their suffering, as well as has repeatedly called on the international community to assume its responsibility to avoid a disaster that might occur in the Red Sea due to Houthi militia’s practices. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has also called on all Arab and regional countries bordering the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea to contribute and coordinate regarding the possibility of an environmental catastrophe, the newspaper added. Upon the request of Saudi Arabia, the Council of Arab Ministers of environmental affairs took a number of decisions in order to avoid the potential catastrophe, and called on Arab countries, international community, and representative of UN Secretary-General in Yemen to impose pressure on the Houthi militias, make an assessment of the ship’s condition, and apply relevant procedures, newspaper concluded. In another context, Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its 90th National Day with sustainable development, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia witnessed commercial, industrial, educational, health and security developments that come to anticipate all future needs and its variables, the newspaper said.
