Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia Celebrates Founding Day

Riyadh, February 22, 2022, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is celebrating today the anniversary of its founding day about 3 centuries ago. The anniversary of Saudi Arabia's founding day coincides with February 22, 1727 AD, since the era of Imam Mohammad bin Saud, the ruler of Diriyah, the paper said. Imam Mohammad bin Saud made Diriyah the capital of the Saudi state, as it was the center of development, science, archaeological monuments and civilization, the paper added. Since the founding day until this prosperous era, being led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia has witnessed unprecedented achievements in many various fields, the paper further added.
