Signing a joint work program between Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property and the General Commission for Audiovisual Media for enforcement and respect for rights

Riyadh, Aug 16, 2020, SPA -- In continuation of the Kingdom's efforts to enforce intellectual property rights and enhance its respect, the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property signed a joint work program with the General Commission for Audiovisual Media today, 26 Dhu al-Hijjah 1441 AH( August 16, 2020 ). This comes to achieve the strategic goals of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia vision 2030. The program also aims to set a general framework for cooperation activities between the two parties in the enforcement of intellectual property rights in the Kingdom, according to the powers and competencies of each of them in a way that does not affect the original jurisdiction granted to the two parties, in addition to providing information related to intellectual property rights, exchange of data between the two parties and training regarding to Intellectual property rights. It is noteworthy that the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property has carried out a number of inspection campaigns at the level of the Kingdom's regions to limit the violation of intellectual property rights, targeting electronic hardware stores, computer programs, websites and record stores that violate intellectual property rights.
