Riyadh, June 8, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional, and international arenas. Al-Riyadh and Okaz newspapers said in their editorials that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced its support for the Egyptian President's call for a ceasefire in Libya and a return to the political track and a state of stability and calm. The papers pointed out that the Egyptian initiative supports efforts of reducing conflicts in the region, preserve the territorial integrity of Arab countries, and protect them from external interference. The papers said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia urged all Libyan parties, Al-Wefaq government and Libyan National Army, to prevail over the Libyan national interest, and to start urgent and comprehensive political negotiations under the auspices of the United Nations. Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper said in its editorial that Saudi Arabia has proven its domination of the oil sector after many sacrifices in order to ensure access to fair shares, whether between producers and consumers or between the producers themselves. The paper said that at the virtual meeting held yesterday, headed by Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Minister of Energy, "OPEC +" that led by Saudi Arabia has succeeded in extending the production cuts until the end of next July.
