Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia Launches Important Stage of Yemen’s Reconstruction

Riyadh, June 03, 2020, SPA -- Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional, and international arenas. Al-Bilad newspaper reported in its editorial that upon directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia launched a very important stage for the reconstruction of Yemen, along with providing half-billion dollars as a part of its relief and humanitarian efforts and development programs that is estimated $17 billion. The paper added that the UN response, along with the participation of 126 countries, agencies and international organizations in the conference has reflected the great appreciation of Saudi Arabia due to its vital role and unprecedented efforts for bringing the stability in Yemen to overcome the tragic conditions caused by the terrorist of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia. The paper further added that Saudi Arabia was keen to host this virtual donors’ conference despite the exceptional circumstances that the whole world is witnessing due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus pandemic, in order to meet the humanitarian needs in Yemen, The paper concluded that such unprecedented support being exerted by Saudi Arabia comes in line with its full support for all UN efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and resume political consultations to reach a comprehensive political solution according to the three references. --SPA 08:50 LOCAL TIME 05:50 GMT 0002 www.spa.gov.sa/w1341959
