Cairo, July 08, 2020, SPA -- The Arab Parliament has approved a Legislative System for Arab Economic Integration. The system included five draft laws, namely, a law of investing the Arab capital in Arab countries, a law to achieve food security in the Arab world, a law to regulate the orientation towards digital economy in Arab countries, and a law on standards, metrology, and quality to facilitate commercial exchange and a transport law in the Arab world. The Parliament also approved two visions; which are the Arab Parliament’s vision regarding activating the Arab common market, and its vision regarding the electrical interconnection project between Arab countries. President of the Arab Parliament Dr. Mishaal bin Fahm Al-Sulami said in a statement that the approval of this legislative system by the Arab Parliament comes in light of the low rate of trade exchange between Arab countries. He pointed out that the Legislative System for Arab Economic Integration aims to strengthen the economies of Arab countries and raise their ability to face challenges by promoting common denominators among them and raising the rates of Arab capital investment within Arab countries. He added that the Legislative System addresses legislative and economic challenges facing economic integration between Arab countries. Dr. Al- Sulami stressed that the Legislative System for Arab Economic Integration requires the support of Arab countries, governments and parliaments for everything that might contribute to activating the mechanisms of Arab economic integration. --SPA 13:06 LOCAL TIME 10:06 GMT 0006 www.spa.gov.sa/w1366757
