Health Ministry Spokesperson: 1141 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, April 22, 2020, SPA -- Assistant Minister of Health and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali said that 1141 new cases were reported today in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In a press conference today, Dr. Al-Abdulaali said that the new cases were reported in Makkah (315), Hafouf (240), Riyadh (164), Madinah (137), Jeddah (114), Dammam (61), Tabuk (35), Dhahran (26), Bisha (18), Taif (14), Kharj (3), Hail (2), Sabia (2), Al-Tawal (2), Qurayat (1), Al-Wajh (1), Sharoura (1), Al-Maznab(1), Al-Jafr (1), Oqlat Al-Saqoor (1), and Al-Hada (1). Dr. Al-Abdulaali also said that the total cases tested positive for COVID-19 in the Kingdom reached 12,772 cases, of which 10,846 cases are active cases receiving medical care, and their health condition is mostly stable; with the exception of 82 cases receiving intensive care. The number of new recoveries is 172, bringing the total recoveries to 1812 cases. The number of new deaths is 5, bringing the total deaths to 114 cases. Dr. Al-Abdulaali also said that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide is more than 2,500,000 cases, of which 692,000 cases have been cured to date.
