Jeddah, Dec 21, 2019, SPA -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed condemnation and rejection of Brazil move to open a commercial office, in occupied Jerusalem (Al-Quds), saying that such a measure contradicts the principles of international law and the decisions of the UN Security Council, especially Resolution No. 478 which stipulates an invitation to countries that established diplomatic missions, in Jerusalem, to withdraw them from the holy city. The organization also expressed deep regret at the Brazilian government’s change of its historical positions committed to international law and support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and called on it, at the same time, to reverse this step, which is a biased one, towards the Israeli occupation and support for its illegal policies aimed, at prejudice the legal and historical status of the occupied city of Jerusalem, that would harm the relations and common interests between Brazil and the OIC member states. --SPA 19:21 LOCAL TIME 16:21 GMT 0018 www.spa.gov.sa/w1232586
