Riyadh, Dhu-AlQa'dah 15, 1438, Aug 7, 2017, SPA -- Halat Ammar crossing's customs aborted an attempt to smuggle undeclared hidden money outside the Kingdom, by hiding it in a vehicle heading outside the Kingdom. General Director of the customs department of Halat Ammar Khalid Al-Rumaih explained that a vehicle was brought to the customs for the purpose of exportation, driven by a passenger. During a routinely customs procedures, a sum of SR 110,500 was found hidden in the roof of the vehicle, which was not disclosed in advance, he added. He stressed that in order to avoid legal liability, every traveler, whether he is leaving or coming into the Kingdom, who is carrying cash or precious metals in excess of SR 60,000, must make the declaration by filling customs declaration form, to invoke Article 16 of the Executive Regulations of Anti-Money Laundering Law. -- SPA 18:59 LOCAL TIME 15:59 GMT www.spa.gov.sa/w461653
