Dr. Al-Awwad Chairs Meeting of Executive Bureau of Arab Information Ministers Council in Cairo

Cairo, Rabi'I 10, 1439, November 28, 2017, SPA -- Minister of Culture and Information of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad chaired at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo today the 8th meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Information Ministers Council. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Al-Awwad offered condolences to the Arab Republic of Egypt on the victims of the bombing of Al-Rawda mosque in Sinai, in which scores of worshippers were killed and injured, stressing that the countries who participated in the first meeting of the Ministers of Defense Council of Islamic Military Coalition held in Riyadh, unanimously, agreed on the need to work together and cooperate militarily, politically, security-wise and financially to stand in the face of terrorism. Dr. Awwad underscored the importance of standing all united against the countries that use the Islamic slogans to reach political goals, citing Iran as the founder and first supporter of terrorism since its inception. The Iranian regime has developed the terrorist act from an individual business stage to an institutionalized, financially, militarily and strategically enterprise, making it the basis of its policy, and causing devastation to our region, he added. Dr. Al-Awwad expressed congratulations to the brotherly Republic of Iraq on the occasion of the election of Baghdad as the capital of the Arab media. He stressed that the meeting will be preceded by effective decisions, which will have an impact on the Arab media, away from conflicts, chaos, terrorism and that will meet the ambitions of regional capitals.
